Target Audience

This course is ideal for you if you are new to working within the Health and Social Care sector.  It is also relevent for experienced staff who would like to refresh their knowledge and skills.

Aims

This course aims to introduce you to Health and Safety legislations and best practice.  You will learn about your responsibilities and the responsibilities of others for health and safety in the workplace.  This will include how to conduct a risk assessment and how tomove and assist in a safe way.  You will explore the procedures for responding to accidents and sudden illnesses and dealing with medication and health care tasls.  You will learn how to safely handle hazardous substances and what to do to prevent fire from starting and speading.  You will also learn how to work securely and manage your stress.

Progression

 Learners who complete the Care Certificate may wish to progress to the QCF Health and Social Care Diploma.
