care certificateThe Care Certificate

The Care Certificate was developed by Skills for Care, Health Education England and Skills for Health. Introduced in April 2015, it aims to ensure health and social care support workers have the skills, knowledge and behaviours needed to provide a high quality service to individuals. The Care Certificate is for staff who are new to the health and social care sector, but it may also be used by existing staff to refresh their knowledge and skills.

The Care Certificate is not a manatory qualification. However, services regulated by the Care Quality Commission will be expected to support staff to achieve it as part of their induction process. At Path to Learning our aim is to enable organisations to support their staff to achieve the Care Certificate. We do this in a number of ways:-

  • Guiding your revision and development of induction materials utilising free resources offered by Skills for Care.

  • Training and mentoring your experienced staff so they can assess new staff working towards the Care Certificate.

  • Providing training linked drectly to the assessment criteria of the 15 Care Certificate Standards.

  • Providing assessment and quality assurance services.
